Taking Glatiramer Acetate Injection

Glatiramer Acetate Injection is given as a subcutaneous injection - meaning it is injected into the fatty tissue just under your skin. Your healthcare provider or nurse will show you how to give your own injections.

PREPARATION & SUPPLIES

Before Your First Injection

Get Trained

Your healthcare provider or a nurse will show you how to self-inject before your first dose.

Read the IFU

Read the complete Instructions for Use (IFU) included in your carton before starting.

Gather Supplies

You will need: 1 pre-filled syringe, alcohol wipe, cotton ball, and a sharps disposal container.

Warm the Syringe

Allow the syringe to reach room temperature for approximately 20 minutes before injecting.

ROTATING YOUR INJECTION SITES

Injection Sites

You can inject Glatiramer Acetate Injection into four areas of your body. Rotate injection sites with every dose to reduce the risk of skin reactions and lipoatrophy (skin dimpling).

Abdomen

Avoid the 2-inch area around your belly button

Front & Outer Thighs

Both left and right thighs

Back of Upper Arms

Both left and right arms

Upper Hips

Both left and right hips

STAYING ON THERAPY

Long-Term Use

Do Not Stop Without Consulting Your Neurologist

Do not stop using glatiramer acetate injection or change your dosing schedule without talking to your healthcare provider.
